What is 52-Week High?
The highest price at which a stock has traded in the past year.
In Depth
The 52-week high is a closely watched technical level. Stocks breaking out to new 52-week highs often see continued momentum, while stocks far below their high may signal either value opportunity or deteriorating fundamentals. Conversely, the 52-week low is the lowest trading price over the same period.
Example
A stock trading at $80 with a 52-week high of $100 is 20% off its peak.
